December 22, 2022

Dear Friend of Museums in Carson Park,

Last July, the Chippewa Valley Museum and Wisconsin Logging Museum accounced plans to merge. We were uncertain of the time table and many details still needed to be worked out.

I'm happy to report Chippewa Valley Museum members recently voted to approve a merger with Wisconsin Logging Museum. In addition, both Boards of Directors have unanimously approved the merger. The legal paperwork is signed and on its way to be filed with the State of Wisconsin. Effective December 31, 2022, the Wisconsin Logging Museum and Chippewa Valley Museum will be one organization.

The new organization will operate under the name Chippewa Valley Museum. The Wisconsin Logging Museum will retain its brand and site identity. I will continue as Executive Director while Rachel Lange, Wisconsin Logging Museum's current Director, will take on the role of Curator.

Joining operations enables the museums to better preserve and share the history and heritage of the Chippewa Valley. You can help sustain this work with a year-end gift. One gift will support two museums. Mail gifts to the Chippewa Valley Museum, PO 1204, Eau Claire, WI 54702 or  donate online by selecting the button below.

We look forward to what the new year will bring. Thank you for your support, and Happy Holidays.

Peace,
Carrie Ronnander
Executive Director
